The first phase of the World Cycling Event in the coast of Cambodia begins!

(Koh Kong): At 11 am on January 4, the first World Cycling Event on the coast of Cambodia has started the first phase of the race, departing from Darasakor Resort. The first departure ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and Lok Chumteav Mithona Phuthong, Governor of Koh Kong Province.
Dr. Thong Khon said that the first World Cycling Event in Cambodia has a total of 160 riders from 13 countries, divided into 16 teams to participate in three stages and will pass through four provinces, including Koh Kong, Preah Vihear. Sihanouk, Kampot and Kep provinces. Participants are from France, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia and hosts Cambodia.
At the same time, the Minister also thanked the most beautiful beach clubs in the world and the International Cycling Federation, the authorities and all stakeholders for their efforts to organize this event in order to promote the potential of tourism in Cambodia and contribute to the promotion of sports. Ride Cambodia's bikes to prepare for the 32nd SEA Games in 2023, which Cambodia will also host.
Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism and Secretary General of the NOCC, stated that the program of the World Cycling Championships in the first coastal area of ​​Cambodia includes:
Stage 1: On January 4, the race starts from Darasakor resort and ends at Koh Kong provincial town on a total distance of 153.5 km.
Stage 2: On January 5, the race will leave the roundabout of Mr. Say Phu Thong and end at Thansur Sokha Bokor resort (top of the mountain) on a total distance of about 172.8 km.
Stage 3: On January 6, the race starts from the gate at the foot of Bokor Mountain and ends in front of Kep Provincial Hall, with a distance of approximately 147.7 km.
